Wer singt die Hymne beim Super Bowl 2024?
Die legendäre Sängerin Reba McEntire wird dieses Jahr die Nationalhymne vor dem Super Bowl singen. Sie ist mit 25 Nummer-1-Hits eine der erfolgreichsten Country-Sängerinnen der USA.
Die Country-Ikone folgt indes einem weiteren: Letztes Jahr sang Chris Stapleton „The Star-Sprangled Banner“. Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys und Pink sangen auch bereits die Hymne vor dem Kickoff.

In der Regel werden zwei Lieder zum Auftakt gesungen: die Nationalhymne „Star-Spangled Banner“ und dann noch das Lied „America the Beautiful“. Beide Songs haben patriotischen und symbolischen Charakter und werden beim Super Bowl von Stars oder bedeutenden Personen gesungen.
Der Star-Spangled Banner wurde von einem Gedicht aus 1814 abgeleitet. Das Lied ist aber erst seit 1931 die offizielle Nationalhymne der USA.

Beim Super Bowl 2024 wird kein geringerer als Popstar Post Malone das Lied performen. Er zählt zu den bekanntesten und erfolgreichsten Künstlern auf der Welt.
„America the Beautiful“ ist ein Lied, das ursprünglich als Gedicht für den 4. Juli, dem Nationalfeiertag der USA, geschrieben wurde. Es wird heutzutage als eine Art zweite Hymne der USA gehandhabt – in der Vergangenheit hat es auch schon Bestrebungen gegeben, den Star-Spangled Banner durch „America the Beautiful“ abzulösen. Bei der Amtsübernahme von Präsident Joe Biden im Jahr 2021 hat Jennifer Lopez eine Version von „America the Beautiful“ gesungen.
