Judicial officials lead defendant Sulaiman A (C) in the courtroom of the Higher Regional Court in Stuttgart-Stammheim, southwestern Germany, on September 16, 2025, for his trial for murdering a police officer in a jihadist-motivated attack and attempting to murder five others at the market square in Mannheim on May 31, 2024. The court is expected to deliver its verdict on September 16 against the Afghan man. The prosecutor has requested a life sentence for Sulaiman A., 26, with an acknowledgment that the guilt is particularly serious, making early release very difficult.
